These are some of the highlights that I may get a chance to experience this summer.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

• Cruise through the canals of this once-underwater city.
• Marvel at a young girl’s determination as you explore Anne Frank’s hiding place.
• Watch craftsmen create traditional Dutch clogs and cheese.

Brussels, Belgium

• Walk through the Grand Place, the heart of Brussels.
• Get a true taste of Belgium as you watch chocolatiers create their world-famous treats.

Paris, France

• Take in a thrilling view of Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
• See the landmarks of the Louvre Museum: the Mona Lisa,Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory.
• Stroll the Champs-Elysées and admire the elegant Arc de Triomphe.
• Explore the inspiring Notre Dame Cathedral.
• Experience the bohemian feel of the artistic Montmartre district—a great place to purchase a painting.
• Sample famous French delicacies, like frog’s legs or escargot.
• Understand luxury at the gilded Palace of Versailles.

Caen, France

• Envision World War II’s historic D-Day landing as you walk the beaches at Normandy.
• Honor the war’s heroes at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.

Amesbury, England

• Be awestruck at Stonehenge, and uncover the possible meaning behind its design.

Oxford, England

• Explore this famous college town that blends ancient architecture and modern business.
• “Punt” along the river for a leisurely ride in your poleboat.

London, England

• Get to know the Beefeaters, official guards of the Tower of London, and hear about the tower’s many functions over the last 10 centuries.
• Hear an insider’s perspective on British government from a member of Parliament.
• Cruise past Big Ben and other London landmarks on a Thames riverboat.
• Re-create life in the Middle Ages—complete with lunch with King Henry VIII!
• Relive a tense moment in history in the Cabinet War Rooms where Winston Churchill commanded Britain during World War II.
• Outside Buckingham Palace, watch for the flag to see if the queen is in. Then experience the ceremonial changing of the guard.
• Take in a play or musical in the West End, considered the capital of the theater world.
• Enjoy an evening on the grounds of Warwick Castle, where a medieval encampment brims with music, games, and colorful characters—from knights to ratcatchers.
• Train to wage war as a knight, and watch the world’s largest trebuchet (catapult) in action.
• Soar over the city in the London Eye, the world’s largest Ferris wheel.
